Broste was founded in Copenhagen in 1955. The founder Ulf Brøste had a keen sense for beautiful objects. During his numerous travels around the world, he brought home small pieces of furniture, home accessories, decorations and gifts. Inspired by the successful Danish Modern Design movement, he decided to support emerging talents in production and sales in addition to his own hand-picked collections. In the 1960s and 70s, the company expanded its range by opening flagship stores on the canals of Copenhagen and specifically importing Kilim carpets and vintage decorations. In the 1980s and 90s, the company's focus shifted to wholesale. We also set up our own production of candles and gift items. The brand name Broste Copenhagen was launched in the early 2000s and today represents the values ​​and DNA of the Danish design company. Since then, the primary goal has been to offer great design solutions that are versatile and functional at the same time. Beautiful pieces that fit seamlessly into the light Scandinavian lifestyle. In 2010 Broste got new owners, Gunnar Hillestad from Norway and Kim Larsen from Denmark. Since then, as the company's dynamic CEO and visionary, Kim Larsen has ensured that the legacy is continued and the design ambitions expanded. Today Broste's products are available worldwide. A large proportion of the products, namely 95%, are designed in-house by the carefully assembled design team. Broste has become synonymous with a light living experience characterized by meticulously crafted tableware, handcrafted vases, hand-blown glass, impressive candle designs and colorful textiles.
