A Meurisse, one of the oldest Belgian chocolate brands, was founded 178 years ago by A. Meurisse, a pioneer in the chocolate world. Back then, chocolate was still a rare delicacy. Meurisse was awarded several honorary degrees at the International Exhibition in Antwerp at the end of the 19th century and at the World Exhibition in Brussels at the beginning of the 20th century, recognizing his commitment to progress.

Around 1900, Meurisse created numerous renowned chocolate brands that remained popular well into the 20th century: many of us still remember the first bar, which was released in Belgium in 1904. Others enjoyed unlimited fondant chocolate with praline filling, which was invented in 1954.
